As Long As There Is Light

Some days I feel like dropping all my dreams, No words to say, no colors, only gray. I watch the world go running past my window, And think: “I’ll pack my bags and slip away.” But somewhere deep beneath the tired heartbeat, A tiny star refuses to let go. There are the hours when I choose the silence, When every song is hiding in the dark. But then one little melody starts glowing, And warms my empty hands with just a spark. It lifts my shoulders, straightens out my breathing, And suddenly my sky is turning bright. You’ll never keep me quiet when I’m singing — And I will rise again, as long as there is light, As long as something gentle pushes back the night. I’ll start from zero if I have to one more time — While there’s a spark in me, I’m never left behind. Maybe the days are flying by too quickly, Maybe the winter settles in my hair.
