Hide and Seek with Life

Life keeps playing hide and seek, Whispers “strong” when I feel weak, Opens doors, then changes sides, Laughs and pulls me with the tide. Time can steal the ones we hold, Turn warm hands a little cold, Still the sun begins again, Painting gold on every pain. We rise like birds into the blue, We fall like shooting stars do, We love, we lose, we try again, Through every joy and every pain. We dream, we dare, we still believe — And keep the light we won’t let leave. Every morning breaks the same, Different faces, different names, Laughing, crying, racing time, Chasing signs we cannot find. Look at me — we’re not so far, You and I, we share these scars, We believe though we’ve been wrong, We walk away — then come back strong. We rise like birds into the blue, We fall like shooting stars do, We love, we lose, we try again, Through every joy and every pain. We dream, we dare, we still believe — And keep the light we won’t let leave.
