I love you as you are

I don’t want a painted dream Don’t need perfect in my hands I see light and I see scars And I love the way you stand You are not a thing to change Not a shape for my desire You are color, you are flame You are truth, you are fire I won’t pull your heart apart Just to make it look like mine What I feel is real enough To love you without redesign I love you as you are Not a shadow, not a star Not a picture in my mind But the soul I came to find Every flaw, every spark Every light and every dark I don’t need a new version of your heart I love you, I love you as you are Some hearts love with open hands Some hearts try to hold too tight But I never wanted yours Just to fit my own inside I can walk with who you are I don’t need to break your wings Love is not a narrow door Love is space for living things I won’t ask you not to shine In your own imperfect way If I love, then I love true Not just the parts that want to stay I love you as you are Not a shadow, not a star Not a picture in my mind But the soul I came to find Every flaw, every spark Every light and every dark I don’t need a new version of your heart I love you, I love you as you are Stay wild, stay soft, stay free Be the only you I see Love is not a mask to wear Love is knowing you are there Final Chorus I love you as you are Not a shadow, not a star Not a picture in my mind But the soul I came to find Every flaw, every spark Every light and every dark I don’t need a new version of your heart I love you, I love you as you are
