Warm Stars

I see the world in a simple way, Like lights that pass but never stay. We shine alone in different skies, At different heights, through different nights. Some burn bright just to disappear, A flash of fire, a trail of fear. They look like warmth from far away, But leave you cold when they fade. But I believe in warm stars glowing, Not the ones that blind and go. I believe in quiet fire, That stays when skies are low. If our paths are crossing briefly, I will feel it, I won’t run — Some stars warm you while you’re living, Not when everything is gone. There are lights you barely see, Soft and small, but close to me. Easy to miss, easy to lose, If you don’t know what to choose. We walk like shadows through this time, Hand in hand, then out of line. I treasure moments, breath by breath, Before the silence says goodbye. I still believe in warm stars glowing, Not the ones that scream and fall. I believe in gentle fire, That answers when you call.
