Lyrics

Some roads faded into silence, Some lights dimmed along the way, There are heights I won’t be climbing, Stars too far for me to chase. There are pages left unfinished, Names I barely recognize, Years don’t turn around and listen, Time keeps moving like the tide. But I still dream of golden skies, Of open doors and brighter nights, Of distant shores I’ve never seen, Of who I am beyond the in-between. I still dream though seasons change, Though nothing ever stays the same, If I can’t fly, I close my eyes — And in my heart, I rise. Crowded rooms feel unfamiliar, I’ve grown quieter with age, In my solitude it’s clearer — Hope is written on the page. Yes I still dream of golden skies, Of open doors and brighter nights, Of distant shores I’ve never seen, Of who I am beyond the in-between. I still dream though seasons change, Though nothing ever stays the same, If I can’t fly, I close my eyes — And in my heart, I rise.
